Default Where are art&crafts hotspots in Toronto?

I'm new to Toronto and live near Eglinton and Bathurst. I'm big into arts and crafts and would like to know the best places to hang out with people and buy supplies. Micheal's is way far in the 'burbs and wouldn't be in my plans to commute out there all of the time.

Things I specifically like to do are:

Knit
Embroider
Clay
Jewelry
Sew
...and more when I discover them.

Thanks for your help!

PS, is it possible to reply in these threads and if so, how?
I know I can look in the Yellow Pages but I'm looking for people's favorite ones.
