Default Do Arab Muslims think that American Muslims should participate in American politics?

Here in the US, there are groups of Muslims such as CAIR and others which encourage American Muslims to vote. There are many Muslims, however, who consider voting haram. Yet, there are others who would agree that voting is haram but would vote in order to choose one of the “lesser evils”. For example, Mccain is a pro-Israel Zionist more than Bush, so some would vote for his opponent for this reason. So what would Arab Muslims say in this regard? Also, what is the opinion of the Ulema? Should an American Muslims vote or not?

I'm particularly interested in the Saudi point of view, but all others are perfectly welcome!
